TRACPATCH PRESENTED AS INNOVATIVE WEARABLE TECH AT DOCSF

On April 24th, the Digital Orthopedics Conference San Francisco, better known as the DOCSF, virtually hosted their 2-day Annual Experience, presented in partnership with the UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. DOCSF creates a network of leaders who are positioned to drive change and are engaged in the transformation of the health care delivery model. The leaders that DOCSF engages with want a conference that is practical, identifies solutions to real problems and provides perspective from people outside their normal circle of influence.

On Day 2 of the event, Dr Stefano A. Bini, M.D. (UCSF Dept. of Orthopaedics), Dr Fabrizio Billi, PhD (Biomechanics UCLA Dept. of Orthopaedics), and Nicholas Gillian, PhD (Computer Science Advanced Technology and Products (ATAP) Google) presented “Sensors in Orthopaedics”, which included a general overview of sensors in orthopaedics, current innovative orthopaedic sensor solutions that are available (such as TracPatch), and a look into the future of sensor technology and device machine learning for health and wellness.

TracPatch Health is honoured to be included by Dr Fabricio Billi as one of the top orthopaedic health solutions for non-invasive, surface sensor technology in remote patient monitoring of patients who have undergone a Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA). TracPatch addresses the full scope of objective, real-time data collection for Total Knee Replacement (TKR) patients both pre-operatively and post-operatively, while other devices are primarily focused on physical therapy applications.

The TracPatch Health System has incorporated physical therapy activities into a remote patient monitoring app such as steps, exercise compliance, Range of Motion (ROM) goals, as well as subjective measurements such as pain scores and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs). The real-time patient data/feedback gives healthcare providers the information needed for complete value analysis of their process and make evidence-based decisions to improve patient satisfaction and minimize healthcare costs related to poor patient compliance and postoperative complications. TracPatch aims to take a much greater holistic approach to rehabilitation- focusing on patient compliance and satisfaction leading to better overall outcomes. By utilizing our technology, we provide early detection for early intervention of adverse events during patient’s recovery, including arthrofibrosis (stiff knee) and wound management, resulting in reduced costly readmissions and insurance penalties. TracPatch is agnostic, allowing it to be used with any knee replacement implants and technologies.
